This project involves the construction of a new ground-floor house with a basement, a guesthouse, and a swimming pool in the Gaidourospilia area on the island of Milos. The central design concept is inspired by a sequence of parallel stone walls that appear to slide past one another, distinctly defining the various functional units of the residence both indoors and outdoors.
The main building is organized into four functional units: the entrance area, the living room with the kitchen, the master bedroom with its en-suite bathroom, and two additional guest bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms. The guesthouse, positioned at a lower elevation on the plot, accommodates two more guest rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The swimming pool is conceived as a separate unit, featuring an outdoor living area, kitchen, and dining space.
These stone walls extend outward, shaping smaller courtyards and verandas while providing privacy for the residents. Between the stone walls, large sliding glass panels and plastered surfaces in beige create a harmonious blend of materials. All building roofs are planted to integrate seamlessly into the natural landscape, while pergolas made of natural wood and wicker enhance the organic aesthetic.
